This ''+1 [[SRD:Bane (Weapon Enhancement)|undead bane]] greatsword'' is not merely effective against the undead, but purifies the corpses of those it slays and that of its wielder.  The weapon counts as a good aligned weapon for the purposes of damage reduction and regeneration.  Those slain by this weapon fall under the effect of ''[[SRD:Gentle Repose|gentle repose]]'' and cannot be converted to undead for the next 24 hours.  Undead slain by this weapon have their respawn time (if any) maximized.  The user gains a +2 sacred bonus on saving throws against negative energy and death effects while wielded.

If the wielder dies, they benefit from the gentle repose/undeath protection as well, but the effect lasts for 1 week.  Their corpse becomes the center of a ''[[SRD:Consecrate|consecrate]]'' spell for the time, and radiates an aura of Good as well as light as strong as a [[SRD:Torch|torch]].
