I always like prereq replacements for uninteresting feat chains, but this one feels a little flat to me. It's mostly just numeric bonuses, you know? |

While the Corpsecrafter series of feat is not the worst, it certainly not a super good line. This feat is a welcomed addition although I think it goes a bit too far.
I am not sure if it fit an archetype proper, from the name it a Frankenstein Monster feat but the benefits are clearly for the Doctor Frankenstein character. As it stand the feat could be very good, but I feel like it trying to do way too much. My suggestion would to either make it a Tome Corsecrafter or make it explicitly for Frankenstein Monster characters. |
Make Corpsecrafter Great Again
In response to Leziad's critique, I can make some soft nerfs and adjust things so the feat isn't so scattered, like :
- 1 HD: The undead creature receives a +2 bonus to Natural Armor, and an additional +2 hit points per Hit Die.
- 3 HD: The undead creature gains +2 turn resistance. For every 3 HD after 3rd, this bonus increases by a cumulative +1.
- 8 HD: The undead creature gains a +4 Profane bonus to initiative, and a +10 Profane bonus to all movement speeds.
- 15 HD: Any turn attempt that would destroy or dominate the undead creature only turns or rebukes instead.
But that doesn't address DD's thoughts in it being an uninteresting set of numerical boosts. I agree with him, I'm just still trying to think of something to spice this up that doesn't fall prey to the original issue of trying to do too much while still trying to consolidate an annoying feat chain. --Spanambula (talk) 17:32, 12 December 2016 (MST)
- Personally I would go for either the Frankenstein Monster or Dr. Frankenstein. Either way for DD's critique you can make things a tad more interesting, by example you could turn the speed bonus into:
- 8 HD: The undead creature is relentless, it speed increase by 10 and it treat difficult terrain as normal terrain.
- You know things which are related by slightly more fun. --Leziad (talk) 22:15, 12 December 2016 (MST)
Regeneration
Undead can't into regen, must fast heal instead. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 09:35, 8 March 2017 (MST)
