Poppet Master [Item Creation]
The shaman took the Scorching Rays straight to the chest with a cry, curling his body slightly from the pain, then slowly straightened, laughing menacingly. His clothes were singed, but the flesh beneath was untouched, and he opens his hand, letting the still-warm embers of what was once a doll fall to the ground.Prerequisites: Voodoo Curse ability, Spellcraft 8 RanksBenefit: You can create Poppets. Each Poppet is a doll linked to a person, usually the possessor of this feat (However, Poppets can be made and linked to others to protect them as well, but doing so requires a lock of hair, a tooth, a drop of blood or similar focus to be made into the Poppet). Whenever someone linked to a Poppet takes damage or falls under an effect, the damage or effect is dealt to the Poppet instead. Each Poppet has 5 HP per Caster Level of their creator and Hardness 2. Attacks made on the linked being damage the Poppet as if it had been attacked directly, and spells, powers and other effects that don't deal damage cause the Poppet to take damage equal to the effective spell level, multiplied by the caster level of the spell (Or power level/manifester level). Death effects destroy a Poppet outright. This effectively renders the linked being immune to damage and even death for so long as the Poppet exists. This link does not work if the Poppet and the linked creature are not on the same plane.
Creating a Poppet requires 1 day, 2,000 GP and 500 XP for every 10 HP the Poppet has. They can also be enchanted with Energy Resistance as if they were a Ring of Energy Resistance, as well as being enchanted with the Ghost Touch property (As if it were a shield) to allow its link to work across planar boundaries, though these added enchantments are costly for an expendable magic item. However, spell requirements are ignored for the purposes of adding the Energy Resistance and Ghost Touch properties to a Poppet.
