There was no blade on the empty hilt, but there was a blade in the grip. As it sinks into your own hand, a crimson edge begins to form.
This +1 longsword has no blade, and cannot be used by creatures without blood. Blood bearing creatures may grasp the weapon and inflict damage to their maximum hp upon themselves, and in doing so conjure up a blade of variable size and strength based on how much damage they take. 4 damage produces a 1d4 damage blade, 7 damage produces a 1d6 damage blade, 10 damage produces a 1d8 damage blade, 13 damage produces a 1d10 damage blade, and 16 damage produces a 2d6 damage blade. While wielded this damage cannot be healed. In addition every time you swing this blade, hit or miss, you lose 1 hp from your normal hp total.
In return, the blade is immune to sunder damage and it counts as a light weapon, a one-handed weapon, or a two-handed weapon when beneficial. On a critical hit it drains all the damage it deals as healing for the wielder, with any additional healing becoming temporary hp which overlaps (it does not stack).
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, vampiric touch.
Cost to Create: 4315 gp, 320 EXP, 8 days.
