1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.
To many, this seems to be a malformed hand crossbow, but to the trained eye it's obvious that this is Iris' Flaskchucker Crossbow! created by the Totally Legendary Tinkerer, Iris! Instead of a mark to place your bolt's nock when loading, a small pouch is placed for loading sling bullets and possibly other things. Without Exotic proficiency (Hand Crossbow), this functions as a Light Crossbow (including having to be wielded with two hands) with a 1d4 damage die, 1d3 when wielded by a small creature.
Iris' Flaskchucker Crossbow! allows the wielder to fire grenade-like weapons, such as flasks, potions, thunderstones, and other alchemical-or-otherwise objects one often has to throw. When firing these objects, the wielder adopts the effects and damages of that item instead of the crossbow's default damage, and splash effects are resolved as usual. The crossbow can also fire Grappling Hooks.
The Flaskchucker Crossbow is calibrated to such an extent that it's accuracy enables precise strikes against foes. Add 1/2 your Intelligence modifier (rounded down) to all damage rolls made with the crossbow. This damage is negated by Precision Immunity. Additionally, the crossbow is designed for use in the offhand, being treated as a light weapon for the purpose of two-weapon fighting.
When one wants to load Iris' Flaskchucker Crossbow! for combat without using grenade-like weapons, they use sling bullets, but can also use properly shaped stones. When using salvaged stones, the Intelligence modifier does not apply. Reloading the crossbow takes a Move Action, but can be loaded with sling bullets using an occupied hand. Flasks and other items require a free hand, unless using the handy Iris' Quick Flaskbelt! (3.5e Equipment)
Crafting the Legendary Tinkerer's Personal Invention, the Flaskchucker Crossbow! requires a DC 20 Craft (Technology/Tinker) or DC 25 Craft (Weaponsmith) check as per normal crafting rules.
