Features Charge. If the githyanki cavalry, mounted on a Star Lancer, moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a Lance attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 6 piercing damage If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 12 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. Flyby. The githyanki cavalry doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks when it flies out of an enemy’s reach while mounted on a Star Lancer. Innate Spellcasting (Psionics). The githyanki's innate spellcasting ability is Intelligence. It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no components: At will: mage hand (the hand is invisible) 3/day each: jump, misty step, nondetection (self only) Mount. Githyanki astral cavalry are mounted on Star Lancers. The star lancer shares the githyanki cavalry's initiative count and takes any actions just after the githyanki while the gith is mounted.  Actions Multiattack. The githyanki makes two melee attacks; or one Charge at advantage. Lance. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d12+2) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) psychic damage. This attack is made with disadvantage if the target is within 5 ft. of the githyanki cavalry. If unmounted, the githyanki must use two hands to wield this weapon. Also see Charge above. Shortsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6+2) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) psychic damage.

Githyanki astral cavalry are only found in Wildspace or the Astral Sea. They are mounted on Star Lancers. They often will form squads of 4-6. They can act as both patrols and shock troops, making them a valuable and flexible unit for the githyanki forces.
