With a pulse of kinetic energy your finger twitches under the gong-like sound of the ring clamping shut on your finger. The numbness passes with the sound, exposing silvery metal ring with a clear glassy dodecahedron on top and embossed images of a thunderbird.
This ring grants its wearer the following benefits:
- Resistance to sonic 5. Unlike normal, this stacks with other sources of energy resistance.
- All natural and manufactured weapons wielded by the wearer deal an extra +1d4 sonic damage. This also applies to creatures grappling the wearer at the start of their turn.
- The wearer casts spells with the sonic descriptor with a +1 bonus on caster level.
The ring is constantly making noise, but the amount of noise it makes can be controlled by the user as a free action causing between -1 and -10 penalty on Move Silently checks for themselves, and Listen checks for everyone else. By concentrating as a standard action the user can focus the sound into a line up to 60 ft long where their own move silently penalty and the Listen penalty are doubled. By aiming it away from anyone they can effectively remove their own move silently penalty. At any setting over -10, creatures in the line are treated as deafened for the purpose of using verbal components (a 20% spell failure chance).
In addition they can duplicate the effects of shatter at will, but only by building up resonance with a casting time of 5 rounds. The DC is 10 + 1/2 HD + your highest mental ability score modifier, and the ring's caster level or your own character level.
Prerequisites: Forge Ring, shatter''SpC.
Cost to Create: 5000 gp, 400 EXP, 10 days.
