A large tome or grimoire which contains all kinds of potion recipes, especially useful for a potion-makers with spontaneous spellcasting. Each potion recipe book typically has a symbol etched upon it, representing the type of magic contained in the book.
All potion recipe books are associated with a spell list, such a bard, cleric, sorcerer/wizard. When a character is crafting a potion with the Brew Potion feat, if they have access to the spell list associated with the book they become able to use any spells on the associated list to provide spell components to the potion. The crafter must expend a spell slot of the same level, as well as any material components necessary. This does not bypass any limitations the crafter may have, such as prohibited schools and whatnot.
By example, a 6th level sorcerer with the Brew Potion and a Potion Recipe Book associated with the Sorcerer/Wizard list could craft any potion using sorcerer/wizard spells, even if such spells are not on her list of spells known.
Prerequisites: Brew Potion, Craft Wondrous Item, scholar’s touch SpCscriveners-chant , crafter’s spellcasting must be of the associated spell list.
Cost to Create: 1,500 GP, 120 EXP, 3 days.
