Its a wonderful idea. I think its a little unbalanced in regards to being able to pick and choose the good things of two separate races, without any of the bad. "In the case of an ability overlapping the perfect hybrid choose whichever applies" I would say a way to fix that would be to increase the level adjustment this still keeps the idea that the Hybrid is still "Perfect" id recommend that the LA is the highest LA of the two hybrid parents +3. Just a suggestion. |
I disagree. Some low LA combinations don't deserve that +3 LA, such as my goblin/xvart but also LA +3 on top of Highest LA opens up some cheesier avenues, especially if we go to epic. My Half Sword Archon, Half Ogre Mage under the current ruling would have an ECL of 35 but under your suggestion would have an ECL of 28. I'm sure there's other cheesy combos by cherry picking OP races that both have low LA. Also when it says Perfect it means the races were perfectly merged, not making some Captain America type guy with all the beauty and charisma of an elf but the strength of an orc. - Aeturo (talk) 09:40, 24 March 2017 (MDT)
- I don't see it Canlin, most combination of ECL 1 races aren't worth 3 class level. Also Aeturo is right, it more of a perfect combination (mixed with some hybrid vigor for when bonus overlap penalty), not a PERFECT hybrid. Now I may have gotten an idea for a template for a perfect member of a race. --Leziad (talk) 11:21, 24 March 2017 (MDT)
