Although well-written and flavorful, the race is too powerful for LA 0. I understand what you are trying to do by using the "Raptoran" model, by restricting powerful racial abilities until high HD. But gaining natural attacks is different than gaining abilities like flight, in that an extra attack is essentially a vertical increase in power even at high levels. Something like flight is appropriate for this kind of scaling only because it gives a horizontal increase which scales in such a way as to not-quite match the increasing availability of similar effects, most of which don't stack with the racial ability anyway. This means that the difference between a high-level raptoran and a high-level human with alternative means of flight is a little bit of WBL (buff-time or whatever) versus a bonus feat which usually balances out alright, particularly since the human's flight will usually work out to be slightly better anyway. However, most magic items, spells, soulmelds etc, that give additional attacks a) are relatively rare, and b) stack with those given by this race, so that don't significantly decrease in value in high-levels.

it is a good article.

LA 0 or LA 1?

I've attempted to lesser-fy them, but four arms is very nice even if they are gained late. Is it still too strong? And/or is the scaling right? Opinions, give them to meeee. -- Eiji-kun 02:47, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
