In High balance, people still tend to make full attacks, making this quite powerful. Perhaps add the action cost of an immediate action on the 5' step, and only against the enemy you're actively dodging? --Ghostwheel (talk) 18:18, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
- It is supposed to be against the enemy you are dodging against, but I clarified. I am considering the immediate action thing, but taking a 5 ft. step against a target you predetermined is on the weak end of what you can do as an immediate action, so im not sure yet. --Leziad (talk) 18:31, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
- Being able to entirely invalidate another's actions once they've declared their attacks (if you dodge the first attack) as an immediate action seems quite strong to me... --Ghostwheel (talk) 18:37, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
- I added a small kicker, it is weaker than many counters also it does not invalidate your action as it turn out full-attacking is better than what most people realize:
- "You do not need to specify the targets of your attacks ahead of time. You can see how the earlier attacks turn out before assigning the later ones. The only movement you can take during a full attack is a 5-foot step. You may take the step before, after, or between your attacks."
- So even if you do step outside of their reach, they can either attack another target within range or just follow you with a 5-foot step themselves. Also even if the best condition for you is met, there is still a bit more to it
- "After your first attack, you can decide to take a move action instead of making your remaining attacks, depending on how the first attack turns out. If you’ve already taken a 5-foot step, you can’t use your move action to move any distance, but you could still use a different kind of move action."
