Level

I have 4 as a tentative level, but I could see arguments for it being both higher and lower. Other opinions would be welcome. - TG Cid 14:53, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

I think character level 7 is a bit low to start sacrificing your highest spell level in order to completely change up what you were prepared for. You're also unlikely to need it at that level as much as you would at higher levels, so by the time you care about it it's a slot several lower and it's not a big deal to prepare and cast it when you need it. So consider this an argument for higher level, like spell level 6.
Also, it may help game flow to require that you prepare a second set of spells at the same time as you prepare this one (or set the alternate set once per day for spontaneous casters). Otherwise casting this spell stops the game while you redo a large portion of your available spells, and that's annoying in the middle or beginning of a fight. - Tarkisflux Talk 15:59, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
I am in favor of both suggestions. Level 6 is pretty high, but I think it's fair and still low enough that it could see some use, so I'll make that change. Regarding the spell list, I agree that it should be prepared beforehand and have now noted as such, but am not sure exactly how to enforce it. Should the second spell list be a permanent thing (that seems like it takes away some of the appeal of the spell) that cannot be changed once selected, or can you be allowed to pick each time as long as you have a list and don't have to rummage around looking for them in the middle of the encounter? - TG Cid 16:35, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
"Preparation casters: When you prepare this spell, you also prepare the alternate spell selection that you would access when the spell is cast. When the spell is cast, you may mark off any prepared spells that you like from this alternate selection so that you have the appropriate number of spell slots remaining.
"Spontantaneous casters: You may only have one selection of alternate spells known to access with this spell. This selection may be changed whenever you regain your spell slots."
Or something like that. - Tarkisflux Talk 18:24, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Alignment Change

Is there any real reason for that?
