As soon as the spell is activated, you gain the ability to project deadly fire bolts as an attack action at medium range. Each firebolt requires a ranged touch attack using your primary casting ability score for attack instead of dexterity and deals 1d6+1 fire damage per 2 caster levels you have (rounded down, maximum of 10d6+10).
As a swift action, you gain additional options for your firebolts:
- You may lower the damage dice by 2d6+2; doing so allows you to ignore fire resistance (halves immunity) for all your [fire] spells.
- You may increase your dice size to 1d8; doing so end the spell at the end of the encounter.
- You may double the damage dice; doing so ends the spell at the end of the round.
If a sorcerer who learned the spell reaches caster level 11th, she loses lesser fire potency and gains greater fire potency as a spell known.
