Invoking the name of Perun and holding his holy symbol aloft, you call forth one of his mighty lightning bolts to smite your enemies.
This spell works very similarly to flame strike, except that it deals both electricity and fire damage. Half of the damage inflicted by this spell is electricity-based, and one-quarter of the damage is fire-based; the remaining one-quarter is raw divine power, and is not subject to being reduced by any form of energy resistance. (For example, if this spell dealt 200 points of damage, 100 points of damage would be electricity damage, 50 points would be fire damage, and the remaining 50 points would be raw divine power.) This spell is also more powerful than flame strike; it does 1d10+2 points of damage per caster level, and there is no upper limit to its damage potential. (For every +1 increase to caster level, add 1d10 and +2 to this spell's damage.) Furthermore, the electricity damage from this spell bypasses the first 20 points of its targets' electricity resistance, similarly to the Anti-Resistance class feature of the Electric Mage (a creature with immunity to electricity is treated as having resistance to electricity equal to 5× its HD for this purpose, so the immunity of a creature with 4 HD or less is completely ignored). The electricity and fire damage are negated by environmental and magical effects (such as moonfire[1] and fireward[1]) separately from one another (for instance, moonfire could negate the electricity damage, but would not affect the fire damage or divine damage), and no magical or environmental effect can negate the divine damage without negating the entire spell.
This spell specifically mentions Perun, the Slavic lightning god, but it could also be keyed to Zeus, Thor, or whatever thunder/lightning god is most appropriate to your setting. Change the name of the spell accordingly. Whichever deity you choose to associate this spell with, it is only available to worshippers of that deity. If you use a deity other than Perun, and that deity is not associated with fire, you may remove the fire damage and [Fire] descriptor from this spell and treat that portion of the spell's damage as raw divine power instead.
Focus: A silver holy symbol of Perun costing at least 3,000 gp. For a cleric or druid, this holy symbol can be the same divine focus used to cast your other spells, but it must be made of silver and cost at least 3,000 gp in order to cast Perun bolt.
XP Cost: 60 XP.
