His body exploded into a red aura and suddenly he seemed a lot stronger than before.

The Kaioken technique is a powerful spell altering tool. There are three versions which it is capable of.

  • Boosting Ki Blasts: The damage a ki blast deals rises by 50%. As the spell power rises (see below), the amount rises by 50% each time.
  • Improve an attack: The critical multiplier for your next attack is one better. In addition, you get +4 to your roll to confirm a critical hit. As the spell power rises (see below), the critical multiplier improves.
  • Improve one's speed: For one round your speed doubles, and you may make a full attack after a move action. This does not apply if you have made two move actions. As the spell power rises (see below), the movement rate is increased to triple, quadruple, and so on.

In all three cases the benefit can be greater as your caster level increases. Every four levels after 8th Kiaoken improves by one step—at 12th level, 16th, and the maximum at 20th level or higher (which grants you 300% damage, x4 critical increase, or x4 speed.)

In addition you take 1d2 points of Constitution damage from the strain of pushing yourself each time.
