The sword is a comical failure of weaponsmithing, having the consistency of gelatin and impacting with a unusual herpa-derpa noise.
The derpblade appears to be a +1 shortsword, with a oozy sheen and a blade which is rubbery and ill suited for battle. In fact, it is incapable of dealing lethal damage and only deals non-lethal. What it does do however it instill idiocy into those it strikes. Those struck by the derpblade must make a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 BAB + Charisma) or become unable to speak for 1d4 rounds. Any words that come out sound like herps and derps. It does not prevent spellcasting, but does prevent communication attempts, even if using tongues or telepathy to communicate. The affected user is unaware of the change and believes they sound normal, leading to much confusion. The effect lasts for 1d4 rounds, and additional failed saves merely reset the duration, if longer.
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, sculpt sound.
