Veiled VizierEdit

Master, their army is moving east and quickly defeating your own. They are led by a heroic young-man who... perhaps the boy you spared grew to be a thorn in your side after all. May I suggest an alternate course of action?
—Zirquia, Human Veiled Vizier

The veiled viziers are powerful diviners and illusionists who hail from a strange tradition of blind spellcasters. They typically are blind, or wear concealing veils which block their sight, or both. They follow the Unseen Path, a philosophy which blends the revelation from divination and the false nature of illusion. To study the path properly, severing oneself from sight is necessary. Despite their blindness, veiled viziers are able to unerringly turn their heads to those who address them, and reply with usually sharp words. In battle, they are trained to mitigate the effect of their blindness. Veiled viziers are exclusively divine or psychic caster, the training they undertake is poorly suited for arcane spellcasters. Veiled viziers are usually female humanoids, but the path is open to all.

Veiled viziers are typically found in the service of powerful monarch and spellcasters, acting as advisors and diviners to their masters. They are prized for their abilities, and mistakenly believed to lack ambition of their own. A veiled vizier is likely a high-level lieutenant of a conquering army, or the trusted advisor of an emperor.

Class FeaturesEdit

All of the following are class features of the veiled vizier.

Spellcasting: At each, you gain new spells per day and an increase in caster level (and spells known, if applicable) as if you had also gained a level in a divine or psychic spellcasting class to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one divine or psychic spellcasting class before becoming a veiled vizier, you must decide which class to add each level for the purpose of determining spells per day, caster level, and spells known.

Unseen Magic: At 1st level and each level of veiled vizier thereafter, a veiled vizier may select either an illusion spell from the Sorcerer/Wizard spell list, or a divination spell from the Psychic spell list. The selected spell must be of a level equal or less than the veiled vizier's current class level. The chosen spells are added to the veiled vizier's class list and as spells known if applicable when the veiled vizier becomes able to cast those spells.

If the veiled vizier chooses a spell which can be undercast, she may change the previous version of the spell that she possessed, even if she is not a psychic spellcaster.

Veiled Seer (Su): Almost all veiled viziers use a concealing veil over their eyes, either to hide their blindness or to obscure their sight. They use a mix of divination-induced visions and mental illusion to guide themselves. While blinded, a veiled vizier gain blindsense of 30 feet, blindsight of 10 feet her class level as a bonus on Listen checks and a +1 caster level on divination and illusion spells. Additionally the veiled vizier does not need to succeed at a check to pinpoint the location of creatures within her blindsense for the purpose of targeting them with spells and counts as having line of sight against the target of her spells within her blindsense.

At 4th, 7th and 10th level the range of her blindsense increases by 30 feet and her blindsight by 10 feet. At 4th and 10th level she gains a +1 on the DC of divination and illusion spells while blinded, at 7th level her caster level bonus increases by 1.

If the veiled vizier has the mesmerist's Hypnotic Stare class feature, she may use it even while blinded and add her class level to her mesmerist class level to determine her Hypnotic Stare's potency.

Improved Blind-Fight: At 2nd level a veiled vizier gains Improved Blind-Fight as a bonus feat even if she does not meet the prerequisites.

Vizier's Guile (Ex) and (Su): A veiled vizier is adept with words and when to use them, at 2nd level she gain half her class level on Bluff and Sense Motive checks. If she has sworn herself to a master, she also gain this bonus on DIplomacy checks against her master, and on Intimidate checks against her master's servants.

A a number of times per day equal to half her class level, a veiled vizier may replicate a suggestion (DC 10 + half character level + the veiled vizier’s highest mental ability score modifier) against a creature with an attitude of indifferent or higher if she made a successful Bluff or Diplomacy check opposed by the their Sense Motive. The suggestion must be a course of action to take in relation to their situation. If the target succeeds on their Will save, they are unaware of the veiled vizier’s attempt to control them. Whether the creature succeeds or fails, it is immune to further uses of this ability for 24 hours.

Precognitive Dodge (Su): As she advances in her career, a veiled vizier becomes more in-tune with the divination that she uses. At 3rd level and each 3 levels thereafter, the veiled vizier gains a +1 insight bonus to Armor Class and Reflex saves. While blinded this bonus increases by +1.

Expert Diviner (Ex): At 5th level when a veiled vizier casts a divination spell with a percentage change to succeed, she increases her chance of success by 10%.

Greater Blind-Fight: At 8th level a veiled vizier gains Greater Blind-Fight as a bonus feat, even if she does not meet the prerequisites

Master Unseen Magic (Ex): A 10th level veiled vizier's illusions have reached their pinnacle. While blinded, a veiled vizier's illusion spell are no longer automatically pierce by true seeing or similar effects. Additionally all creatures roll twice and take the worst result when attempting to disbelieve the blinded veiled vizier's illusion. A creature benefiting from true seeing roll once as normal.

Veiled Vizier's BlindnessEdit

While not all trained to be veiled viziers are blind, the inability to see is vital to their training in the art of divination and illusion. Sighted veiled viziers must wear a fastened veil for at least 16 hours per day (excluding rest only), the veil requires 5 minutes to unfasten and remove. A sighted veiled vizier who ceases to wear their veil regularly cannot advance further in the class unless they change their way. This is not due to violating a code of ethics, or offending a deity, but as slacking in a vital part of their training.

Some veiled vizier may be partially blind, such as having the Defective Eyesight flaw. Those veiled viziers are still expected to blind themselves completely with a veil, but it may not need to be fastened.
