You walk forward and suddenly feel a great pressure on your skin, and your breath is taken away. There's no air here!
Upon the casting of this spell, a bubble from the Quasi-Elemental Plane of Vacuum prevails in the affected area. No air or other fluid medium exists in the area and all sound is stopped. Conversation is impossible, spells with verbal components cannot be cast, and no noise whatsoever issues from, enters, or passes through the area. If a creature does not hold its breath, its breath is sucked away and they begin suffocating until they can leave. Suffocation renders them staggered for one round after leaving the area. The sphere also proves dangerous to exist within, dealing 1d6 nonlethal damage from lack of pressure each round. Nonmagical fires that are brought into the area go out, and water boils away and evaporates over 1 round. Magical fire persists, though any non-instantaneous flame has its damage minimized on any dice rolls.
The sphere is difficult to see in the air. Creatures must succeed on a DC 20 Spot check to know where it is. Creatures entering the sphere unaware, or within the sphere on its person have their breath sucked away unless they succeed on a Fortitude save to retain their breath and hold it. On a failed save, they must find and inhale air as a standard action before the end of their turn or they begin to suffocate. In other mediums (such as water) the sphere is much more visible and can be spotted automatically.
The spell can be cast on a point in space, but the effect is stationary unless cast on a mobile object. The spell can be centered on a creature, and the effect then radiates from the creature and moves as it moves. An unwilling creature can attempt a Fortitude save to negate the spell and can use spell resistance, if any. This spell provides a defense against sonic or language-based attacks.
Material Component: A suction cup.
