1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.
Sometime mistaken for a Compound Bow, a three-stringed bow is essentially a longbow with three-strings. It can be used as a martial weapon as a simple longbow at a -1 penalty, however a user with the proper exotic weapon proficiency can do something truly stupid:
A proficient user may attempt to fire up to three arrows all at once as part of a single attack, each arrows beyond the first add a -2 penalty top attack on each arrows fired during the attack. Any source of extra damage dice (such as sneak attack), with the exception of enhancement placed on each arrows are only added to the first attack which hit a particular creature. All of the attacks must be made against a single creature, or divided between a number of creatures within 5 ft of each other.
250 gp/100ft range is the cost of a normal three-stringed bow and 400 gp/110ft range is the cost of a composite three-stringed bow (+0 strength). Effects which apply to longbows (such as Weapon Focus) also apply to the three-stringed bow.
