Ratings

Franken Kesey dislikes this article and rated it 1 of 4.
Long duration (1day/level), high DC (20), all at low level (0 to 1st).

With arcane mark being permanent, there’s precedent for messages left by 0th level spells staying around a long time.

The DCs to read the text are because walls of text are notoriously hard to read. Why do you want them lowered?

Why is the spell level relevant? If you didn’t want the text to be easier to read, I’d assume you thought it overpowered for 0th. As it is, I’m just mystified. Ideasmith (talk) 15:27, 26 June 2019 (MDT)

CommentsEdit

Really cool spell (think Luigifan uses this on a regular bases). A dazzle effect which covers an area and has a long duration. However, it is powerful for a zero or first level spell. Suggest either: 1) reduce duration and DC, and give it a save, OR 2) increase level to 2.--Franken Kesey 06:39, 28 April 2019 (MDT)

Daze?
....oh! No no, dazzle. Dazzle while reading, cause you're distracted. Biiiig difference. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 06:48, 28 April 2019 (MDT)

I don’t think he actually reads articles before commenting. Also 10 minute casting time and requires opponent to attempt to read it. There is a difference between reading an essay and a stop sign. Grog toad (talk) 06:55, 28 April 2019 (MDT)

Also, you know, dazzled. He really wants a save for an effect that gives a –1 penalty on attack rolls, Search checks, and Spot checks? Surgo (talk) 10:24, 28 May 2019 (MDT)

Accidental Edit or PermittedEdit

Apparently I made a mechanical edit on this. But I don't remember if I ever got permission. Bad form from me if I didn't. I think I may have accidentally assumed it was mine, I cannot recall. I should probably touch base with Idea. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 09:21, 28 May 2019 (MDT)

While you didn’t get permission, I would like to know the reasoning for the changes before I go to the trouble of changing it back. While you are doing that, perhaps you could give advice on some other changes I’m considering: Adding a quote (I thought it was a Mark Twain Quote, but it turns out to be a Blaise Pascal Quote.); adding rules for multi-language walls of text (or explicitly prohibiting them); changing the summary to “Covers surface with unreadably written text”. Thank you. Ideasmith (talk) 15:27, 26 June 2019 (MDT)
