Ring of Delayed DamageEdit

Ring of Delayed Damage
Price: 9000 gp
Body Slot: Ring
Caster Level: 7th
Aura: Moderate Abjuration
Activation: See text
Weight: --

An ivory ring designed to look like two coiling snakes, and ten small gems arranged in a circle that shine with dim light. When you drop, one by one the gems begin to wink out with increasingly panicked tones.

If you are struck with a killing blow (by hp damage, ability damage, or negative levels but no other source), you are instead left at -9 hp and stable, or 1 ability damage or 1 effective level remaining but unconscious. The extra damage, extra ability damage, and extra negative levels that would kill you are held in reserve in the ring for 10 rounds. Additional damage done also goes into the ring rather than being applied to the user. If you receive the appropriate healing that would bring you above a lethal threshold before 10 rounds are up you will survive. Damage in the ring is healed first before being applied to the user.

If the time runs out (or the ring is removed prematurely) the damage held in reserve is applied immediately, likely killing the user.

The ring does not break, but the 10 gems recharge slowly at the rate of 1 per day. Therefore it is possible to have a shorter time left to save yourself if the ring is not fully charged.

Prerequisites: Forge Ring, delay deathSpC.
Cost to Create: 4500 gp, 360 EXP, 9 days.
