Note in a BottleEdit

Note in a Bottle
Price: 300 gp
Body Slot: --
Caster Level: 9th
Aura: Moderate Evocation
Activation: Use-activated
Weight: 1 lb

You place your note in the bottle and toss it into the ocean. Please wait 1d12 days for shipping and processing.

Messages and fine and smaller items can be placed within this bottle, with a name written on a tag on the bottle's neck. The user must think of a specific creature they know directly and write their name. When thrown into a sufficiently large body of water (large enough to not see the bottom) the bottle sinks and vanishes into the depths below. It then proceeds to travel through the world and through the planes to reach the intended creature 1d12 days later. The bottle waits until the creature approaches a sufficiently deep pool of water to bob up and drift towards its target. The bottle will remain drifting after the target until picked up (by any creature).

The bottle can travel through the world and can even appear or vanish in unconnected bodies of water such as a sufficiently deep pool or lake. It can even cross the planes, provided there is a source of water to appear in.

The creature can unload the bottle and load in a new message to send back to the creature, or to send to another. Once opened the tag is erased and made blank for a new target.

The bottle typically has no fail chance, but unusually disruptive conditions across the planes may result in a 5% chance the bottle is lost in transit.

Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, sending.
Cost to Create: 150 gp, 12 EXP, 1 day.
