This wooden staff looks gnarled and unworked, more like a branch in staff shape than a carved quarterstaff. Its surface yet blossoms with leaves and fungi.
A base staff is a staff which does not initially have any spells upon it (and thus is more akin to a rod), though spells may be applied to it as normal through crafting feats. Initially acting as a masterwork quarterstaff, it provides the following additional benefits.
- Garden of Life: The staff's collection of random vines, berries, and mushrooms produce enough for a meal for 1 creature once per day.
- Nature's Blessing/Nature's Curse: As a touch attack against a single non-creature plant you may deliver the effects of plant growth or diminish plants.
- Nature Unharmed: You may choose that attacks with the staff, spells cast from the staff, and spells cast with the staff as an optional focus do not harm natural terrain as per fire storm. You may also exclude creatures of the Animal, Fey, Plant, or Vermin types, with attacks passing through them as if they were never there.
- Nature's Wroth: Attacks with the staff, spells cast from the staff, and spells cast with the staff as an optional focus gain a +2 to attack rolls and a +1 to DC on any spells against Aberrations or Constructs.
This staff is a favorite of druids.
