Elemental Gate RodsEdit
Ancient artifacts that used to be used to transport troops during a great war between elemental planes, these rods are covered in runes which glow with elemental energies they are attuned to when active. Their bases are sharpened and they are intended use as pitons that can be embedded into their chosen element. Classically they are rods of air, fire, earth, and water but rare rods to some of the more unusual inner planes may exist. As a full round action they can be embedded into any place where their element is in great amount: Blowing wind, a burning bonfire, solid rock, or a pool of water. This can leave them suspended in midair as they treat the medium as a solid object as long as it exists. When embedded a gateway between the current plane and the inner plane is established allowing creatures from both sides to pass through as if it were a gate, though the location the portal opens on the other plane is random as per plane shift. The gate lasts until the piton is removed on the side it was activated on.
The local area around the piton begins to feel the effects of the other plane such as becoming unusually warm, wet, windy, or densely packed within 100 ft of the piton. It also provides no safety against unknown agents from walking through the gate.
