Advanced Whip Tactics [Fighter, Tactical]
With a snap, the adventurer activated the trap from a safe distance away.Prerequisites: BAB +1, Proficiency with whipsBenefit: You gain several tactical uses with a whip, as shown below.
- Entangling Vine: You can grapple with a whip just as well as you can grapple with your hands. Make a grapple check as normal, using the range of the whip and employing the ability score used for attack on the grapple check (usually strength but sometimes dexterity, as you can tie them up with other means). If successful you pull them into your square as normal. Alternatively you can simply leave them tied up, in which case they do no move into your square and are simply considered entangled, and you are not considered grappling. They can escape the entanglement as a standard action to remove your bonds, and you cannot use your whip while it is entangling someone.
- Grip Whip: Your whip is an extension of you, and you can use your whip to perform any action you could perform one-handed that involves grasping, pushing, or pulling. You can, for example, grab onto a pipe overhead and swing on it, yank a set of keys off a guard, or attempt a bull rush at range without having to follow the enemy.
- Whirlwhip Attack: As a full attack action you can perform a Whirlwind Attack as per the feat. If you already have the feat, you may make a full attack to all targets as a full attack action. This feat counts as Whirlwind Attack for the purpose of pre-requisites.
