Surprise! BEARS!!!
What seems to be a normal brown bear turns out to be the dreaded treebear, magical ursines with the power to turn into trees. Turns out this particular skill is great for ambushes, making the forests they live in that much more dangerous. A wizard probably did it. Stupid wizards.
Combat
AMBUSH! A treebear is often disguised as a tree, and ambushes its prey by reverting to a bear. If it needs to run, it tree strides away.
Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, a treebear must hit with a claw attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
Spell-Like Abilities (Sp): At will- tree shape, tree stride.
Skills: A treebear has a +4 racial bonus on Disguise and Swim checks.
