Racial Traits

  • Fey (Spiritfolk): They are minor food fairies, which have a very urban lifestyle.
  • Small: As a Small creature, a gyotzi gains a +1 size bonus to Armor Class, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, a –4 size penalty on special attack (bull rushes, grapples, overruns, and trips) checks, and a +4 size bonus on Hide checks, but it uses smaller weapons than humans use, and its lifting and carrying limits are three-quarters of those of a Medium character.
  • Gyotzi base land speed is 20 feet.
  • Low-Light Vision: A gyotzi can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. She retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
  • Delicious: Their flavour is incredibly tasty, and they suffer a -2 against swallowing attempts. If they suffer at least as much fire damage as their HD, this penalty increases to -4 and the one eating them is under the effects of goodberry with a caster level equal to the gyotzi's HD.
  • Fatten (Ex): As a move action, once per day, a gyotzi may expand its mass, doubling its height and multiplying its weight by 8. It becomes Medium-sized (if not already) and gains Powerful Build. It also gains +2 size bonus to Con, -2 to Dex, -1 to attacks and AC and its land speed doesn't increase. This effect lasts 1 round per Constitution modifier (minimum 1)
  • Sumo: Sumo is quite a common sport among males and females in gyotzic society. They gain the Sumo feat for free, even if it doesn't meet the requirements. They also don't count as Small for the purpose of encumbrance.
  • Automatic Languages: Common
  • Bonus Languages: Any
  • Favored Class: Monk
  • Level Adjustment: +0
  • Effective Character Level: 1
