Ah, one of may favorite shows of all time, and a set of abilities I had been trying to figure out how to implement for years before coming across this. I've seen other Bender classes, but... None worth using, not like these are. |
Hi there again. I have been looking at a wiki sight [1] for inspiration. I like your thoughts as we previously discussed. However I do have 1 more point I'd like to ask you. Is there ever a way for the air bender to attack (non damaging, such as yank or air smash) to attack more than one person?
I am imagining a overpowering situation, where it is the airbender without his glider and 4 or 5 warriors about to close in. He lets off a great big air smash sending everyone out of the way, leaving the speedy runner to sprint out on his next turn while everyone else tries to get up and move toward him again. (Or in that same scenario, yank them all so they all land in the same spot and clunk each other in the head, something comically amusing like Aang) Air consussor is good if this were a hallway, but I am thinking courtyard setting.
I am assuming it would probably be a major bend, something along the lines of Loudmouth and misdirected bends, where it only improves previous bends taken. But then again, I may be wrong entirely, which is why I am asking you.

- I felt that it would be a Minor Bend with the implementation I came up with for it, as you can see. --Foxwarrior 18:43, September 13, 2010 (UTC)
Shield Bubble QuestionsEdit
What happens to characters trying to come in to the shield bubble if they fail the save? If they make it in, would they also take the 1d4 nonlethal damage, just like the Bender of Air, (provided the Bender is able to maintain it)? Does the immediate action provided by swipe still function while maintaining the bubble? Finally, does this shield bubble have visible effects, and would those effects deter the average human (you and I) from entering?

- They don't get in, they don't take damage, swiping is still possible, the visible effects have been shown for you several times if you care to look in the right place, and I personally would recognize that they were the sort of thing that might be unpleasant to try going through. --149.169.207.86 01:42, October 8, 2010 (UTC)
71.81.118.55Edit
Those edits are noble, but they have problems. Deer horn knives don't exactly have a writeup, now do they? "Polearm" isn't an actual weapon categorization. And making flings twice as far with a fan or polearm is extreme enough that you can't really expect those bends to be fair both with or without such a weapon. --Foxwarrior (talk) 05:33, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
Trap save clarification.Edit
Just trying to figure out how your whole "trap save" class feature works. Is it an additional save for you (defensively) or a modify to the DC's from your bends (offensive)?
so looked a bit further, figured out its purpose, just would like a cleanup/clarify for it.
- Since you figured it out, how would you phrase it? --Foxwarrior (talk) 03:50, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
RevertedEdit
I rolled back an edit by an unknown IP making mechanical changes, I wasn't able to confirm it was Foxwarrior and no notice was given. If this is in error, please reply here. -- 09:52, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
As promised (actually on another page, but this IP keeps doing this), I've locked the page to IPs. Please, you need to address your concerns here before making mechanical edits. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 18:38, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
New Bend IdeasEdit
Air-Guided Projectile; Allowing the user to guide his arrows/bolts/etc. in order to increase range (Increase the range increment by 5ft per 2 bending levels, perhaps?) and accuracy (Making attacks as touch attacks if the target is within the first range increment of the weapon). Something like the Wind-Guided Arrows reserve feat from the Complete Mage, but better. What do you think? Zhenra-Khal (talk) 10:22, 26 December 2016 (MST)
- Another idea is the spiritual projection Airbenders were shown to be capable of in Legend of Korra. This allowed them to travel distances in spirit form, passing through obstacles and the like, as well as being able to communicate in order to get help by revealing their ghostly form. Their body is helpless in this state, but it makes for an interesting Major Bend if I may implement it. --Zhenra-Khal (talk) 20:58, 5 October 2017 (MDT)
