Dual Soul[edit]

The Dual Soul is a person that houses two souls within their body. One soul may communicate with the other, and provide assistance if needed.

Creatures with this template often speak to themselves. The second soul rarely makes a full appearance to the outside world, however will telepathically communicate often with the primary soul. When the second soul takes over, the body has a change of appearance, normally with hair and eyes.

Creating a Dual Soul[edit]

The template is typically inherited by humans. However other races can inherit this trait.

Size and Type[edit]

Outsider Native

Hit Dice[edit]

A creature with this template maintains their base race's hit dice, if it has any.

Speed[edit]

A creature with this template increases their base land speed by 50 whenever the second soul takes over.

Armor Class[edit]

A creature with this template gains a +3 deflection bonus to AC whenever the second soul takes over.

Attack[edit]

A creature with this template may use any weapon he or she is proficient with still. They also retain any natural attacks that their base race might grant them, otherwise they get no unique attacks.

Full Attack[edit]

A creature with this template does not gain a unique full attack, and simply progresses with their base race's full attack as normal.

Special Attacks[edit]

Blink Strike (Su): While the second soul is in the forefront, a Dual Soul may instantly appear in a square within their movement speed once per round. If the small teleportation would put the Dual Soul next to an enemy within their own threatened space, they may attack their target. If the Dual Soul has the Sneak Attack or Sudden Strike class feature their attack also procks those abilities due to the suddenness of the motion.

Special Qualities[edit]

Aura of Command (Su): When the second soul is in the forefront, the Dual Soul gains a commanding presence like that of a powerful being. Any hostile creature within the 40 foot aura must make a will save, DC is 10 + Charisma Mod + 3. Upon failure the creature(s) fall under the effects of the Suggestion spell until the Dual Soul is unconscious, dead, or they leave the aura's range.

Fast Healing (Su): The Dual Soul gains a healing factor of 5 per round whenever the second soul comes out.

Soul Swap (Su): Whenever the Dual Soul is dropped below 20% of their hitpoint value, the second soul comes to the forefront and gains all of the aforementioned and to be mentioned boons. This swap lasts until the end of combat or the Dual Soul is knocked unconscious.

Abilities[edit]

Upon the second soul coming out, the Dual Soul gains the following ability score increases:

Strength +4, Dexterity +4, Charisma +2

Skills[edit]

There are no skill changes.

Feats[edit]

No additional Feats.

Environment[edit]

The Dual Soul may live wherever they choose so long as their body can withstand the environment. (E.g. A human cannot live in the void or a volcano without special powers or gear.)

Organization[edit]

They generally organize wherever they live. Cultures vary and as such so do their organizations. In other words, they organize as their base race would.
