::We've been playing warlocks since they came out, and I think the closest anyone in our extended group has ever played to an 'Evil' character was a Chaotic Neutral descendant of Loki (many times removed), and he wasn't evil, he was trickster and chaos incarnate. We've never had anyone play an evil one. We always looked at the first two lines of the warlock's description as the key ones:<blockquote>"Born of a supernatural bloodline, a warlock seeks to master the perilous magic that suffuses his soul. Unlike sorcerers or wizards, who approach arcane magic through the medium of spells, a warlock invokes powerful magic through nothing more than an effort of will."</blockquote> So we've always used that, and said they are a bloodline caster, just like the sorcerer. I know the rest of the description talks about 'most' or 'many' warlocks being of evil origin, but the description does talk about other origins as well. They mention wild and fey explicitly, and really, any supernatural entity that finds humans attractive can be an origin. One of our warlocks was the great-grandson of a planetar, and was the twin brother of the party paladin. Brimstone Blast became Holy Fire, Baleful Utterance became Holy Utterance, etc.[[User:RedRabbit|RedRabbit]] ([[User talk:RedRabbit|talk]]) 03:09, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
:::Just a quick Update. I am in a game currently with a player playing a Pyromaniac. The GM allowed this as "Flames of Life". It works quite well for us, especially as the party lacks a cleric.
