The Circle of the Cosmos becomes clear to a Druid that recognizes the true meaning of what it is to be "natural." Life on a planet is not the only naturally occurring feature of the universe; gravity moves all existence in the most grand dance of all. The power of the stars envelops you, brings a fullness and wonder to your voice, and brings you new knowledge of your world. More than a waterfall or a hurricane, the stars and the phenomena they create are all powerful. In your understanding of the scale and weight of this "nature," you find abilities that bring you closer to a higher understanding.


Stellar Compass

When you enter this Circle at 2nd level, you finish your study of the stars and their relative locations. You always know your location and cardinal orientation, as long as you've viewed a clear night sky within the last week, and you know the time remaining until the next local noon or midnight. Knowledge of the cosmos finds its way to you; when you enter another plane, at the end of your first long rest there, you gain an understanding of its stars as well.

In these whispers, you hear the tales of many cultures and their constellations. Though you may not know the context, or speak the language from which they come, you are never without a bedtime story about a legendary hero, local deity, or mythical item. Creatures that listen to your stories during a rest gain temporary hit points equal to your Druid level upon completion of the rest.

Outershape

Also at 2nd level, you gain the ability to project your Wildshape outside your body, expending a use of Wildshape to do so. Choose a beast-type creature as normal and summon it to an unoccupied space adjacent to you. It is a celestial instead of its normal creature type, it is a familiar as in the Find Familiar spell, and it persists a number of hours equal to half your druid level (rounded down) but requires concentration from you. In combat, your Outershape is under your direct control, and you must use an Action to have it move and attack on your turn. You cannot have more than one active Outershape at a time, and cannot use your Wildshape as long as one persists. If your Outershape has not dealt or received damage, you can change its form as an Action without expending a use of Wildshape. Your Outershape can be dismissed in the same manner as you undo your own Wildshape.

Greater Outershape

At 6th level, your Outershape, not your Wildshape, can take the form of a beast with a Challenge Rating equal to your Druid level divided by 3. It's attacks, along with those you make in Wildshape, are now considered magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance to physical damage. All other requirements and restrictions on your Wildshape and Outershape still apply.

Zenith to Nadir

When you reach 10th level, your affinity with the cosmos allows you to draw upon its power. You may spend one minute in meditation to cause one of the following effects, depending on the time of day:

  • If it is sunrise, the waning shadows and first rays bestow new hope and life. Creatures you choose that can hear you may reroll a saving throw they failed the previous day, provided it is from an effect caused by a spell of 5th level or lower.
  • If it is midday, creatures within 60 feet of you cannot be invisible. Bright light from the sun reveals such creatures to you, but does not end the source of their invisibility; they may move out of range and return to hiding, provided the source effect has not ended. This effect lasts up to 1 hour, but requires your concentration. This effect does not work if the invisible creature is underground or indoors.
  • If it is sunset, the dying light can carry away despair. Vegetation within 1 mile is cured of any disease or plague and becomes healthy. Creatures that can hear you can reroll a saving throw versus being frightened, possessed, or to overcome a disease they have been afflicted with.
  • If it is night, motes of light descend from the stars to rest in your midst. Non-magical darkness as far away as a mile is considered dim light until sunrise, and the effect of the Dancing Lights cantrip persists for the same duration. The Dancing Lights do not require your concentration and cannot move beyond 120 feet from you, but the brightening of the night does require your concentration.

Once you cause one of these effects, you must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again.

Starlight Song

Finally, at 14th level, your command of the Druidic language expands to reach the stars. At the sound of your singing, the canvas of the sky answers to your voice. As a free action, you may begin to sing in Druidic to cast a grand illusion. The illusion lasts as long as you continue to sing, and requires your concentration. You may cause the sky, not including the clouds, to adopt a new scene. All creatures that can see your illusion know it to be such unless they have an intelligence of 6 or below. You may cause lunar and solar eclipses to appear, a sky full of shooting stars or the local galaxy, and change the sky to appear as any time of day. Regardless of the change you make, the intensity of the light does not change; you cannot make noon seem as dark as before the dawn, for example, but the night sky may appear at noon.

The effect of your singing changes if you are beyond the atmosphere of a planet, in space, for any reason. You may sing despite the lack of air in a vacuum, you are not harmed by your hostile environment and no longer need to breathe, and can direct your singing to a certain astrological body you can see. The magic of the cosmos grips you and any creatures that would otherwise be able to hear you, heedless of the vacuum, and begins to pull you through space and time toward the body of your choosing. After one minute, your spell takes hold fully, and you may stop singing. You arrive at your destination within eight hours, orbiting at a safe distance until you choose to sing again and either begin a new journey through the stars or safely land on the surface - if one exists - of an astrological body you can see that is in the gravity well of the local star. Upon landing, you are mute until you finish a long rest.

Once you use this feature for either effect, you must complete a long rest before you can do so again.
