It can only be added to a weapon that possesses a enhancement that adds bonus energy damage (such as Flaming). As a standard action you may make a single attack, and in addition to normal damage all creatures in a 60 ft line are subject to 1d6 points of the appropriate damage type per 2 character levels, with a Reflex save for half (DC 10 + 1/2 HD + ability modifier used for attack rolls). A creature can be struck by the melee attack and also be struck with the line of energy.
This attack may be used once every 1d4 rounds. If your weapon has multiple energy types, you may choose to use a different energy type when using the Energy Wave enhancement. It is normally a +2 enhancement, but becomes +1 if you have a "Burst" enhancement such as Flaming Burst.
