If the character has some help, cut this time in half. A single character doing nothing else can help one or two adjacent characters. Two characters can't help each other don armor at the same time. The wearer must have help to don this armor. Without help, it can be donned only hastily.

Though this heavy armor of solid black iron looks haphazardly put together at best, a veteran of the battlefield knows enough to be wary of it at first sight, for its purpose in breaking through well established defenses is painfully obvious. With plates at a slanted angle serving to repel weapons away from the armor's centre, the phalanx breaker armour turns a warrior's strength and momentum into a nearly unbreakable defense.

The plalanx breaker plate armor grants the following benefits when worn, on top of its general protective capabilities:

• Phalanx breaker plate armor counts as a masterwork skill tool for the Intimidate skill. Whenever you use the Intimidate skill, you may choose to affect any number of creatures within 10 feet of you by taking a -4 penalty.
• Whenever enemies within 10 feet of you suffer a morale penalty or a penalty from a fear-based condition such as shaken, frightened or panicked, it is increased by -1.
• The armor comes outfitted with a pair of heavy gauntlets that when worn will add twice your Strength bonus to damage rolls with two-handed weapons.
• You incur double the armor's armor check penalty to Tumble checks, but add your Strength bonus to your Armor Class while moving.
