Sounds a bit more like an epic spell to me in that case, as it can even put Fimbulwinter to shame and devastate entire ecosystems or the world's atmosphere with the change in temperature and lack of tides. --Ghostwheel (talk) 15:42, 13 August 2014 (UTC) | Sounds a bit more like an epic spell to me in that case, as it can even put Fimbulwinter to shame and devastate entire ecosystems or the world's atmosphere with the change in temperature and lack of tides. --Ghostwheel (talk) 15:42, 13 August 2014 (UTC) |

What happens if you cast this on an ocean? Suddenly all the bodies of water, including adjacent oceans, are turned into "Ice 9"?
Sounds a bit more like an epic spell to me in that case, as it can even put Fimbulwinter to shame and devastate entire ecosystems or the world's atmosphere with the change in temperature and lack of tides. --Ghostwheel (talk) 15:42, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
- Actually this WAS an epic spell (though I forgot if I ever made it or not) that I depowered. It is potentially world ending, yes, but the reason it's not is that I established the Ice 9 can be shattered and in doing so, destroy the entire chain reaction. It just takes one angry kraken in the ocean to stop the reaction. Normal fish and animals are probably boned though. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 00:11, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
- "However affected creatures remain dead." So all the little fish in the sea take enough damage to kill them instantly (half of 17d6). Is this the real reason the Sahuagin don't conquer everything? Because all their children and other class-level-lacking members are dead? --Foxwarrior (talk) 04:15, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
- Badum-Tish. More seriously, this makes for a great setting piece, and a functional trap.--Dragonexx (talk) 01:08, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
