Call to Arms!
I know you don't comment on other users much. With what little time you have prioritised to this wiki, I would much appreciate even a currsary glance of either my Sith/ Jedi (3.5e Class), Uongo-mijusi (3.5e Race), or Viveka Spectre (3.5e Prestige Class). Thank you for being the fulcrum of green dragons downfall - and any time on the above pages. --Franken Kesey 00:42, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay
Sorry it took me a month to get back to you on this. Looks like that got in while I was finishing up my recent move, and I didn't see it. Only saw it at all because I decided to look over my watchlist for the last couple of months. Anyway, if you're still interested in the idea, my thoughts are there. - Tarkisflux Talk 19:43, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
Ratings
Since you like using the rating box in the neither format, I went and added that as an option (so it doesn't leave the annoying directions message). Just do |rating=neither and you should be good. - Tarkisflux Talk 07:41, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! I find it useful to put down an actual rating of "neither" so that I know that I have already rated the article if I look at it again. Right now I'm picking random pages and rating whatever comes up. --Aarnott 16:58, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
Seriously?
Come on, what are you doing? Aren't there enough other reasons for you guys to make fun of us? Look, I'm overweight, wear glasses, and just got friend-zoned by a girl I though I was settling for. Make fun of me for any of those things. Don't try and stop the slightest twinge of progress we've been able to manage. Besides, do you really think one small success is suddenly going to turn GD into a rational and reasoning person? Feel free to come to our wiki and laugh at us (God knows, I come to your wiki and stare longingly at the recent change log that is filled with constructive edits and cooperation); just, don't get in our way. Besides, once you break the fourth wall, it won't be as fun anymore. We all know that. --The Badger 02:38, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- Awww, fine. I'll stop the trolling. When I've had a tough day, it's just comforting to know I can go there and rattle Green Dragon's cage. I'll even post a retraction to point out that I was being sarcastic. Honestly, I didn't realize you actually had vested interest in that site. I was just teasing the dragon, didn't realize it would affect anyone other than Hooper. --Aarnott 02:55, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- Funnily enough, Hooper is not really on GD's side anymore. I'm not sure I have a "vested" interest, more of a morbid curiosity. Anywho, yeah, thanks. I was just going to remove it as vandalism, but I thought it was too funny to remove. --The Badger 02:59, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- K, my curiousity has me. What's going on in this threa- OH LAWDY! But seriously wat happen? -- Eiji-kun 03:15, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- I'm in your IRC for the time being if you're actually curious. --The Badger 03:20, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- Plushies are at work so no chat. Email is open though, soleiji at I'm not making it a hyperlink gmail dot com, just to avoid roving spambots and spiders. -- Eiji-kun 03:38, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
The Cosplayer
First off, still waiting on if you are planing to argue Costume being over powered or limited use. Second off, I have uped the abilities and included a new first level ability to get first-level power up. Also considering making the LA cap back to it's original setting if you wish to argue the overpowered end. Standing by for response.--Change=Chaos. Period. SC 01:49, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
- Note: I will be away this weekend, so I won't be responding to your replies until Monday or Tuesday, at best. --Aarnott 16:46, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
Semantic Properties
Looks like a few things of mine need semantic properties. One problem... not really sure what's missing so I can add them. -- Eiji-kun 17:37, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- I was just going through all the equipment listing pages and tagging stuff that had blank fields. Take a look at breadcrumb path :). --Aarnott 17:42, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- I looked but... I don't see anything. I even compared it to the pre-load. Nothing seems out of place. -- Eiji-kun 00:11, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
- The template was written such that it would add a {{{summary}}} bit to the summary if you didn't do the summary through the template, and that's what Aarnott tagged some things for (I think). I fixed that already, so if you're looking at things and don't see what's going on, just call it good and remove the incomplete. - Tarkisflux Talk 03:52, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
Deleted article Artathi, Letathen (3.0e Monster)
PROOF of open gaming license found! HERE is your proof of the Open Gaming License for the content I had posted yesterday. I am not aware of how this "open gaming license" stuff works but MYTHIC RACES (the book where I got the Artathi from) IS AN OPEN GAMING LICENSE WORK. See the 2nd to last page for a sample of this book and it's LICENSE terms (the page before this DOES list the Artathi) [1] NOTE this is a book meant for 3.0 and I have no idea how to convert it to 3.5e. --ProphetPX 23:26, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- If it hasn't already been stated elsewhere, the issue comes from its use of homebrew tags instead of being printed as OGL material. That is usually covered differently here, although I can't think of a great deal of other examples because we don't have them here. That said, the 3.0 Monster tag is useless anyway, since it wouldn't even show up anywhere in the main navigation as a result of there being no search parameters for 3.0 material.
- As far as converting it to 3.5e, 3.0 pretty much assumes that everything's the same unless errata says otherwise. In light of that, re-posting it here seems to be an exercise in futility unless you're actually making a different version that conforms to more 3.5e rules or is simply just different than the original. - TG Cid 04:43, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
Celestial Porpoise (3.5e Monster)
Looks like you posted this a while back, but didn't author block it. Can you fix that or purge it please? - Tarkisflux Talk 05:41, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

Spambot Stuff
Wanted to talk to you about spambot defense stuff, but you're not in chat and you don't have an email configured for me to use through the site. When might you be around to chat with? - Tarkisflux Talk 22:39, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
- I've been swamped recently :(. I'm in chat now for a couple hours and I'm doing the whole email confirmation thing if you want to reach me via email through the wiki. I still haven't received anything from Surgo. I checked my mailbox last night. --Aarnott 19:36, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

- I rebooted the server again. I'm pretty sure the mysql install we have isn't great. I'm going to set up a vm when I get the chance to duplicate our environment so that I can see about upgrading/downgrading... --Aarnott 19:07, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Manual Contribution Lists?
Why aren't you automating that? - Tarkisflux Talk 19:38, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- I never really produce enough content to have actually been even slightly bothered with updating the lists. I also like having the TLDR descriptions although I suppose I could still do that with Semantic stuffs. --Aarnott 19:40, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
The Bloodcaster
Unfortunately, this prestige class was suppressed from the wiki two week ago, although this doesn't really surprise me. But can you send me a copy of the page, so I could work on it on my free time and make it viable?
My mail is [email protected]. Thank you already.--Idlem (talk) 15:56, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
- I've restored it for now. You can copy it to a sandbox if you like: Bloodcaster_. The incomplete bot will remove it again if it isn't fixed up in the next few days. --Aarnott (talk) 16:02, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
Orphan-making Bot
Looks like your bot left an orphaned talk a while back (that I now deleted, hence the redlink). Don't know if this is an old problem that you addressed, but wanted to give you a heads up. --DanielDraco (talk) 04:30, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Thunderfist Requesting Permission
I'd like to know if I can use your Diablo Necromancer in my Diablo sourcebook. It would only make sense...

Update to the Mender
The Mender (3.5e Class) has had its life force pool scaling changed drastically. Perhaps this changes things. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Qwertyu63 (talk • contribs) at
Another Point
Foxwarrior brought up another point about the Practiced... line of feats:
- <Foxwarrior> and, of course, using a feat to fundamentally change how most characters are built goes against the whole balance point principle
- <LaptopGW> How do you mean, exactly, though?
- <Foxwarrior> well, the balance points exist to let people make characters from a big fancy list. If a feat is good enough that not getting it is a terrible idea, it's taking control of the character building metagame to the extent that some of the rest of that list becomes irrelevant.
- <LaptopGW> *nod*
Gotta say I agree with that as well. It's just bad from a design standpoint, invalidates options, screws with the resources you're supposed to have as part of the system, and is just a bad way to go altogether IMO on so many levels. --Ghostwheel (talk) 21:04, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Image Policy Stuff and Toads
Well, you got to adding sources before I could finish this. Feel free to delete the delete template when you resolve the problem, man. Anyways, reread Dungeons and Dragons Wiki:Image Policies when you get a chance as a refresher to avoid dumb crap like this in the future. Also, the dire toad... go check the comments on its talk page, because seriously, that thing isn't CR 1/2. --Ganteka Future (talk) 23:23, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, this is image related and I didn't feel like a new header was really necessary. Anyways, I see you uploaded File:Spinner.gif the other day and I notice a couple things about it... so I tinker around with it. I was kinda curious about what color background it was intended to be used with, since it defaults to fade to white. Anyways, my tinker version fades the color to the wiki backdrop yellowish and I cleared up some noise. I didn't want to be presumptuous and just update the file without asking or finding out some details for its use (and if it even is getting used). --Ganteka Future (talk) 04:47, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
- Feel free to upload an updated version. I thought the background was transparent though... I just generated it from a spinner-making website. It's going to be used for this: User:Aarnott/Lego Bin 14. Press ctrl + shift + j (in chrome at least) and paste the code into the browser console to test it out. --Aarnott (talk) 15:42, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
- The background is transparent on the image. What I was getting at was that the image was designed to fade to white on a transparent background, where our backgrounds here are yellowy, so the fades are in gray tones when we need fading yellowy shades since .gifs don't support a full transparency channel (stuff is either fully transparent or fully opaque). I'll just upload the new version and if for some reason it's dumb, you can always roll it back. --Ganteka Future (talk) 01:05, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
JS code added
Hey Aarnott, now that I'm back from traveling I put the navbox code into our common js file. What now needs to be done -- just updating the Navbox code, basically? Surgo (talk) 01:48, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
