The Alchemical Shaped Charge Iolite Injector, known in shorthand as the ASCII Gun, is an alien weapon developed by the gokiburi. The concept is simple... in effect it is an alchemical item launcher, though the ammunition comes within uniquely shaped iolite crystal shots modified to shatter in specific ways, spilling it's alchemical contents into a tight and focused stream for maximum damage. Because of it's precision, it has no splash effect and requires a normal, not a ranged touch attack roll to ensure it impacts and strikes through the weakness of the armor into softer flesh. The damage of it's needle-like projectiles is irrelevant compared to the blazing heat, freezing cold, conductive zing, or acidic pain of it's bolts.
You can use the ASCII with the same ease as using a normal light crossbow, including firing it in one hand at a -2 penalty. Unlike the light crossbow it takes a full-round action to reload a clip of alchemical shaped crystals. The gun holds a stock of 15 crystals before requiring reloading. The gun can hold a mix of any various types of bolts as needed, the next one coming up as a free action.
