Additionally you may use your [[Chain Whip (3.5e Equipment)|chain whip]] or [[SRD:Whip|whip]] to manipulate objects (but not weapons), at a range of 5 feet + the reach of your weapon (10' for the [[Chain Whip (3.5e Equipment)|chain whip]] and 15' for the [[SRD:Whip|whip]]). You may use your weapon as a [[SRD:Grappling Hook|grappling hook]], within that range. When doing so, you may attach your whip as a move action and detach it as a free action. ''Whipping Parry:'' You are adept at catching attacks with your whip, diverting them away. While not using a weapon or shield in your off hand, you gain a +1 shield bonus to AC. This bonus improves to +2 when you reach BAB +5increases by half of your whip's enhancement bonus, rounded up.
