Broad Longsword (3.5e Equipment)

No change in size, 23:00, 30 September 2023
no edit summary
The Broadsword is often used by specialized troops, usually cavalry soldiers, to deliver powerful blows and massacre enemies.
A broadsword Broadsword is too large to use in one hand without special training; thus, it is an exotic weapon. However, it's not as long and heavy a bastard sword, so a character with 12 of strenght (instead of 13) can get the Exotic Weapon Proficiency feat for a broadsword suited for him. A character without the Exotic Weapon Proficiency feat can use a broadsword two-handed as a martial weapon, or one-handed with a penalty of -2.
A broadsword Broadsword counts as a Longsword or as a Bastard Sword (but not as these two last weapons together) for the purpose of any of the following feats: Greater Weapon Focus, Greater Weapon Specialization, Improved Critical, Weapon Focus, and Weapon Specialization: if a character has any of these feats both on the Longsword and on the Bastard Sword, the bonuses of the feats from the two last weapons don't stack within the Short Bastard Sword.
