Deep Sea: Pale ghostly versions of their surface kin, they suffer even more from the sun but are unhampered by darkness. Gain extraordinary See in Darkness (as a devil) and are immune to the crushing pressures of the depths as well as having endure elements (cold) at all times. However Light Blindness penalties and duration are doubled, and they gain the sunburnt flaw with no bonus feat.

Maddened: These kuo-toa are already hopelessly insane. They take a -4 penalty against confusion effects and suffer from two minor psychosis effects. In return they are immune to all charm and compulsion effects (except confusion effects), and gain Slippery Mind as a rogue. If they gain Slippery Mind again it provides a second, third, or more rerolls on the same effect in subsequent rounds.
