It could have past for some sort of sleek hoverbike, with an elongated horn in front, a dozen optical sensors near the front, a curved saddle-shaped back, and a lobster-like tail fin with mysteriously proposed engines slung underneath. Though it looked like a vehicle it moved autonomously and with all the elegance and predatory nature of some kind of flying shark.

An ancient construct related to the robota servus whose methods of production have long since been lost, it is believed they may have once been mounts given their construction that comes complete with saddle and gripping surfaces around the nape of its neck. It is largely one large, immobile, dart shaped entity whose mobile bits are limited to the unknown propulsive jets that give it VTOL capability and flight even in the void of space. Any riders are exposed to the elements, so it seems unlikely that space travel was their intended purpose. Most prosequi are not capable of being ridden having gone "feral" some time ago. They patrol their territories with all the hunger and threat of a shark, lighting up their glowing eyes upon intruders and chasing them, impaling, or killing those that draw near. Some even seem to mimic feeding, but they have no need for sustenance and have no mouth to ingest with. The behavior of the prosequi is difficult to determine as some will ignore creatures passing through while others will aggro at a moment's notice.

Like their servus kin, they are capable of communicating through chiming sounds and the appearance of unknown runic glyphs which appear holographically just above their "head" like some manner of halo. To this day the language remains impossible to translate, but it seems they are capable of communicating among themselves, though few choose to do so. Most seem uninterested in working together, other than sharing territories or patrolling areas in groups.

In theory, they could be trained to be used as mounts once more. Their long bodies allow for a passenger without any interference for the actions of the main rider. Robota prosequi are about 16 ft long and 3 feet in diameter, roughly cylindrical shaped. They weigh about 400 lbs.

Combat[edit]

Robota prosequi charge into battle with their lancing charge, then spend their cooldown being evasive and hiding. If there are more than one, they will take turns attacking until the target flees or dies. They seem to have a sense of self preservation and will flee if they think they themselves will die.

Antigravity (Ex): The robota prosequi may always hover regardless of its maneuverability. Its unknown propulsion allows it to fly even in a vacuum.

Ego: Robota prosequi have a strange sense of self imbued within them even if they lack intellect. For the purpose of their instinctive behavior and cunning, their Charisma is a stand in for their Intelligence score. They are about as smart as sharks, not very, but capable of tracking, hunting, navigating, and keeping watch.

Lancing Charge (Ex): The robota prosequi's goring horn acts like a lance, including dealing double damage on a charge (or x4 damage on a charging critical hit). It can use Spring Attack charging and moving through an opponents space while attacking them, and can attack each creature in a straight line. It may make a free Trip attempt as part of a successful attack on a creature, though if it fails to trip its movement stops there.

Lancing charge takes a toil on the prosequi. It must wait 1 round between lancing charge attempts.

Long Body: The robota prosequi is unusually long, and effectively has room for two Medium or smaller riders without any additional penalties for each, though only one is recognized as the primary rider. It can move through a Medium space without squeezing as long as it is moving in a straight line.

Companion[edit]

A robota prosequi which isn't feral is rare, but they can be selected as a paladin's mount or animal companion of 10th Level or Higher (Level –9). They cost 5000 gp for the purpose of purchasing and "training". A robota prosequi can fight while carrying a rider, but the rider cannot also attack unless he or she succeeds on a Ride check.

Carrying Capacity: A light load for a robota prosequi is up to 300 pounds; a medium load, 301–600 pounds; and a heavy load, 601–900 pounds. It can still fly even if under a heavy load.
