I'm still around.  I didn't give it a level to be taken as an animal companion cause it's a Magical Beast, but 7th Level would be appropriate

Companionship

"Now swampdwellers everywhere can raise the vicious little halfwits as food or companions. Bullywugs are actually said to prize them." but it lists no level at which a Druid or Ranger can recruit one.
