Really good versatile exotic weapon. We have quite a series going now. |

It's always nice when weapon fluff and use incorporate the actual historical use for the weapon. This mace allows for an interesting debuff on heavily armored foes rather having to use the all-or-nothing Sundering method.
Filing under Fighters Should Have Nice Things (that aren't just boring vertical power boosts). |

First, there's the whole +1-4 bonus to attack.
Then there are the abilities. Overhead Crush: There are a lot of massively strong things that work off of crits. Automatic crits should not be a thing. Tank Buster: I'm actually okay with the first part of Tank Buster. But the second... Again, automatic crits are a no-no, doubly so with effectively a x4 weapon. Wild Spin: Not sure about this one. Would need to think more. But overall, I would far more like to see this as a tactical feat rather than an actual weapon, as it puts other weapons to shame, makes them redundant in many games where this is allowed, and is overall bad for the game. tl;dr: Make this a tactical feat that works with hammers and maces. And get rid of the autocrits. |
Tank Buster
You may have mis-read, it's auto-confirming crits, not an automatic crit.
I disagree on the rest. I like the concept of making weapons unique by basically making them weapon-specific tactical feats. It means you have something to choose the weapon on other than the size of the dice and the size of the crit. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 22:06, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
- Also, given the requirement of EWP for the use of the abilities, one could just consider the EWP the equivalent of a [Tactical] feat with one of the options being "You may wield a Gigas Mace without a -4 penalty for non-proficiency. A gigas mace must be used in order to make use of the other options of this feat." --Undead_Knave (talk) 22:33, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
