1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.
A slingshot is a projectile weapon consisting of a handle (usually made of wood or iron) diverging into a 'Y' shape, around which is wrapped two elastic bands that join to form a pocket that can be pulled back with a second hand. Unlike a sling, a slingshot requires two hands both to aim and to fire. The flexion created by the pulling of the provides tremendous force for the slingshot, which normally fires sling bullets but can also be loaded with acid flasks or alchemist's fire. If loaded with such ammunition, the slingshot's damage type is changed to the type dealt by that particular ammunition type and the base damage dealt can be the base value of either the slingshot or the grenade-like weapon, whichever is higher.
As with other projectile weapons, the wielder of a slingshot may make iterative attacks if they possess them by virtue of their Base Attack Bonus. Despite the fact that it is a projectile weapon, a slingshot's range increment is doubled by the Far Shot feat as though it were a thrown weapon.
A slingshot can be made with a high strength rating to take advantage of an above-average Strength score, with the default version being designed for a character with no exceptional Strength. This feature allows you to add your Strength bonus to damage, up to the maximum bonus indicated for the particular slingshot. Each point of Strength bonus granted by the bow adds 50 gp to its cost.
