Don't blink.

The blind king statue is a disturbing sculpture of concrete and rebar vaguely in the form of some horribly misshapen humanoid fetus, and splattered with what is either paint or blood. If a creature makes visual contact with the statue, it freezes in place. The moment eye contact is broken, the blind king statue attacks, often killing its opponent instantly. Because of its fantastic durability and difficult to combat nature, it is a threat to all but the sturdiest of beings. The origins of the blind king statue, or the number of them in existence, is not known but they have fortunately always been found solitary, hidden away in ancient ruins and caves. The method to their creation is unknown.

The blind king statues stand 6 and a half feet tall and weigh 400 lbs. They do not make any sound save for the scraping of stone when unobserved. They often smell of blood and feces, as both substances seem to spontaneously generate in the local area which a blind king statue inhabits. The method of this generation is unknown.

Combat

Fighting a blind king statue directly is almost impossible, as it is invincible while observed. It can only be damaged while unobserved, and during such events it will assault its attackers violently. The best way to combat the statue is to avoid contact, making sure to keep a close eye on the statue until it can be secured in a room, breaking line of sight and line of effect at once.

Epic Hardness (Ex): The blind king statue is unusually durable. When while in motion, it has hardness 100 and halves all damage except sonic damage. This hardness cannot be overcome, even by spells and maneuvers which specifically overcome hardness, unless the attacker is ECL 21 or higher.

Flash Movement (Ex): The blind king statue moves so fast, it never provokes attacks of opportunity from movement, and is constantly under the effect of freedom of movement.

Neck Snap (Ex): Whenever the blind king statue establishes a grapple, it immediately forces a Fortitude save DC 40 vs death by broken neck. This is not a death effect, though creatures which can survive without their heads can survive neck snap. The DC is Strength based.

Quantum Locked (Ex): By strange fortune (or misfortune) the blind king statue is unable to move while being observed. It appears to be locked in time and likewise cannot be harmed in this state, effectively invincible. Any creature within 400 ft. which has line of sight to the blind king statue is considered watching it. If no creature is watching it (because all creatures choose to avert their gaze or something obscures line of sight, such as darkness or fog) it will animate and act immediately, and be vulnerable to harm during this brief moment. Because it is animate for so short a time, the most effective way to combat it is either by being purposefully blind, or attempting to ready actions to strike at it when it moves.

Opponents in groups are fairly safe, usually having at least one pair of eyes on it at a time even with blinking. A single creature with no other pairs of eyes must make a Fortitude save DC 15 to avoid blinking, and the DC rises by +1 each round. If they fail, they have broke line of sight and the blind king statue takes its turn for the round immediately.

The blind king statue is never surprised and always wins initiative. It cannot attack immediately if spotted farther than 400 ft. away, but it will use any lapses in line of sight to double move or run towards the target in the fraction of an instant line of sight is broken, giving it the false appearance it is teleporting. The only safe means of containment is breaking line of sight by closing any doors or passages to it and locking the door. The blind king statue, while absurdly strong, does not bother tearing through doors or other obstructions unless it has line of sight (through glass or another transparent substance).

Strangle (Ex): If a creature has been grappled by the blind king statue but did not die from neck snap, all subsequent rounds are spent strangling the opponent. Each round a grapple is maintained it deals twice its slam damage to the target (2d8+90) until the target expires.

Superior Grab (Ex): To use this ability, a blind king statue must hit with a slam attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. It can get through immunity to grapples granted by such things like freedom of movement, though the opponent gains a +8 bonus on checks to resist. It cannot grapple gaseous or otherwise insubstantial creatures.
