Druid of the Anima [General]
Prerequisites: Druid level 1.Benefit: You may select certain magical beasts to accompany you as an animal companion, if you so wish. If you do choose to have a magical beast as an animal companion, of course, the extra HD granted to it as you level up are ten-sided (d10) Hit Dice. Additionally, the magical beast's base attack bonus is equal to the beast’s HD, instead of what is normal for an animal companion. If you take this feat at level 1, you may begin play with a stirge or a darkmantle, instead of the normal animal companions available to be selected. Additionally, once you are of sufficiently high level, you can select your magical beast companion from one of the following lists, applying the indicated adjustment to your druid level (in parentheses) for purposes of determining the magical beast's characteristics and special abilities:
