|benefit=Whenever you are hit with something which will make you unconscious or dead (such as taking enough damage to die, or failing a save vs death), there is a 50% chance it will not work.  Damage and death are simply ignored and brushed off through sheer luck and fortitude, leaving you with a minimum of 1 hp instead of the normal result of the fatal attack.
|example=Tommy fails his save vs ''[[SRD:Finger of Death|finger of death]]'', but has a 50% chance of avoiding it anyway.  Then he takes enough damage to bring him to -7, but again brushes it off with 50% chance.  Then he is turned to stone and the feat does not apply because he is transformed, not dead.
