You may initiate this counter when damaged by a melee attack. You create a copy of yourself to deliver a melee attack against the attacker using your highest attack bonus and the attacker is flat-footed against this attack. If it hits it deals damage as if you struck the opponent. The clone is immune to harm, and since you are not the one who struck the opponent you do not suffer from any consequences (or bonuses) for doing so.
