''This frayed and ragged cloak is fashioned from a dark brown cloth, fading to black at the edges. It holds several stains which appear to be the imprints of bats.''

When the cloak is donned, it grants the wearer a +2 competence bonus on [[SRD:Hide Skill|Hide]] checks. The wearer can summon forth, with a tug of the cloak as a [[SRD:Swift Action|swift action]], a single [[SRD:Bat|bat]], which isn't under control and often attempts to fly away. Only a single bat may be summoned at a time in this way. Tugging the cloak again dispels the previous bat and summons a new one. Killing the bat prevents a new one from being summoned for 1 minute.

However, if used in dim or lower illumination, attempting a [[SRD:Hide Skill|Hide]] check has a 10% chance of summoning a [[SRD:Bat Swarm|bat swarm]] centered on the wearer. Attempting to summon a [[SRD:Bat|bat]] while in dim or lower illumination always summons the [[SRD:Bat Swarm|bat swarm]] centered on the wearer. If the swarm is killed or leaves 100 feet of the wearer, it is dispelled and cannot be summoned forth for 1 minute.
