''This red mask is carved from a single piece of dry darkwood and sealed with resin and paint. The mask is thin and lightweight. The inside of the mask is painted black and the outside face is a modest aged red. The eyes are large black circles with white four-pointed stars in the centers. Minor chips, cracks and wear in the wood and paint give the mask character.''

During the day, if the mask is donned, it simply functions as a mask, covering the wearer's face.

If worn after sunset, the mask's powers activate, transforming the wearer into a form (determined from the list below) as an [[SRD:Alternate Form|alternate form]].

The form the mask grants is the same for that wearer for that night. The mask pops off at the first light of dawn. The mask can be removed at night as a [[SRD:Standard Action|standard action]] by pulling from where the mask would otherwise be on the wearer's head. Given the wearer's form, they may need assistance in removing the mask.
