''These diamond shaped flying craft have no cockpit, for they are completely autonomous.  They move unnaturally, pulling off high speed turns that would pulp a human pilot.''

Autonomous fighter planes, the locusta drone is small and compact with a diamond shaped flying wing body with short stubby wings, intakes and engines built in with thrust vectoring engines, and a unique electromagnetic weapons system that provides extreme amounts of ammunition.  They are often built with electromagnetic rectennas so they can obtain power from a far off source without needing to rely on energy internally, and thus have a very long time before they need restocking.

Locusta are 20 ft long with a 15 ft wingspan, and weigh 1500 lbs.  They can only communicate through radio interface, which they use to communicate amongst themselves and any radio equipped interface.

Locusta act with swarm intelligence thanks to their radio uplink, able to work as a single unit and focus on targets or go autonomously and swarm an opponent with pure chaos.  They are especially effective against ground targets as they swoop overhead taking potshots via Spring Attack.  Opponents need to time their shots in order to take them on.

With no sense of self preservation, locusta will gladly sacrifice themselves if it means success of the overarching goal.
